When to register as self-employed

Last updated: 23 Dec 2021

You should register as self-employed as soon as you become self-employed.
However, you MUST register before the 5 October in the second year you have been self-employed.

For example:
Let’s say you became self-employed on 18 July 2019, you could register any time after that date, but you MUST register before 5 October 2020. You will be fined if you don’t.
